An administrative answer is only useful if you can check it. Every obligation in Civena points to the official page it comes from, and shows when it was last verified.
Source hierarchy
Tier 1 — official Swiss government sources: ch.ch, admin.ch, Fedlex, federal offices, cantonal and communal websites.
Tier 2 — official public-service documentation, for example the association of cantonal road traffic offices or Swiss Post for postal services.
Tier 3 — high-quality secondary sources, used only when official information is insufficient and never to override Tier 1.
How a rule becomes “verified”
An editor reads the official page, records a short verbatim excerpt, the language and the date, and encodes the rule’s conditions (for example: moving to another canton and owning a vehicle). A rule is only marked verified if it cites at least one Tier-1 source.
Reading the labels
Confirmed by official source — the rule is verified and your facts satisfy it.
Depends on your situation — Civena needs one more fact to know whether it applies; it asks you.
Needs verification — ambiguous, unusual or not yet verified. Civena says so and routes the question to review instead of guessing.
Change detection
Official pages are re-checked on a schedule. When a page changes, the rules that cite it are flagged for editorial review, and high-risk rules are never changed automatically.
Independence
Civena is an independent private service. It is not affiliated with the Confederation, any canton or commune, and does not display official logos. Official sources are cited, not represented.
